Even once someone feels they have moved on and are ready to be with someone else after being cheated on by their spouse, there is still going to be a piece of their heart that is reserved for that person. Not because they don’t want to give it away, but because they can’t. They will time and again think back to when they were with their spouse and how there was so much promise but then remind themselves of what happened. That space in their heart will forever be guarded for the “what could have been”.
