It’s been 3 weeks since I have heard the sound of your voice. I am torn. I stay away as preservation. I wish for nothing but to speak to you, yet the second I hear a word from your lips, I fear I will lose resolve and fall weak at the knees.
Sometimes, we have to do what is hard so we can carry on. We need to guard our fragile hearts. They are still mending and are endangered by the ones who were protecting them in the first place.

wondering if I could
hear you across the world”

Briana, I am so saddened to read these words of pain. I am impressed by your reliance, which is being sorely tested, and by your capacity to communicate your loss which, as you well understand, is both intensely personal and also universal. I hope having this outlet brings some relief and that sharing your experience will ease some of the pain. The strength of your loving heart is inspiring.

This is very touching. Thank you, Victoria. I just hope it’s helping someone else out in the world with their own struggle of loss.
