This is an important letter written by ITSAN. They need your help. We would be nowhere without this nonprofit.

The Future of ITSAN is at Risk for 2019!

Dear TSW family,

We at ITSAN have been working really hard this past year to break through the
resistance to TSW in the medical community – to change the way it, and ultimately YOU! are understood and treated. We have had incredible doors open before us and know it is just a matter of time before industry changes are considered, but are currently at a place where we need your financial support in order to seal the deal and make that happen. Up until now, ITSAN has been run by a handful of dedicated TSW warriors and its efforts have been funded solely by the generosity of a few individuals in our community (and, to be honest, these have been very few).

Running a nonprofit is different from bringing awareness on a grassroots level. It requires organization, technology, face-to-face networking, individuals with various skill sets, and a LOT of time. We are on the cusp of breakthroughs and are in a position to make a significant global impact, but in order to do so, we need to make the transition from an organization run by a couple of volunteers, to one with focused strategy, solid infrastructure, and salaried positions to get the job done.

Together, we can change the history of medicine and save millions of people from
suffering as we have. Please get involved! If you personally are unable to help
financially, consider asking friends and family to help, or running a FB or other fundraiser. Even small amounts will make a difference! If only 20% of our membersgave a recurring donation of $13 a month, that would more than meet ouroperating costs. That is only 1,000 people out of 5,000!

Due to the small donations ITSAN receives, we are unable to meet our organization’s objectives for this year. We do not have enough cash to meet rising costs for attending and exhibiting at annual medical conferences, which is where we do the majority of our advocacy work. Additionally, we need to hire 1 full-time and 2 part-time staff members.
Our volunteers can no longer afford to work every week without compensation.
Established in 2012, ITSAN is the ONLY nonprofit working to raise awareness of Red Skin Syndrome/Topical Steroid Withdrawal and support affected individuals. We are working hard every day to accomplish our mission through advocacy work, fostering physician and patient education, and providing community support, so that your excruciating suffering will not be in vain. Our monthly webinars, biennial ITSAN conferences, patient experience reference materials (for industry physician leaders), building relationships with doctors and medical researchers, and marching around Washington D.C. and other cities all come at a cost.

We can’t afford to lose the momentum we are gaining in the medical community. We
are in dialogue with several leading medical researchers that have taken a serious interest in TSW and are looking into how they can get involved. Additionally, we’ve been invited to help host the first Patient Focused Drug Development meeting on eczema with the FDA, and we will have a chance to share our stories. That’s the good news! The bad news is: we can’t do this without your generous financial support. We are only as strong as the support we receive from each of you.

As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit charity, ITSAN actively represents over 5,000 people affected by Red Skin Syndrome. Our budgeted costs are now $12,800 a month, or $128,000 annually (budgeted for March through the end of the year), which includes 3 salaries, website updates, the development of an ITSAN forum, exhibiting at medical conferences, and more robust member engagement (our 2018 donations totaled only
